Albert Park Physiotherapy practice

Our facilitieS

The period facade of this historic physiotherapy practice in Albert Park hides a modern, climate-controlled interior where clients can engage with our reception staff, relax in the waiting room with current magazines or entertain their tots with a selection of children’s toys.

Real Time Ultrasound

Real Time Ultrasound is an invaluable non-invasive tool. It is used to evaluate how your muscles are working such as the “core” stabilising or pelvic floor muscles. By using Real Time Ultrasound, identification of poor muscle control occurs instantaneously. This greatly assists our physiotherapists to evaluate your problem quickly, which then leads to a more targeted rehabilitation program to help you reach your goals sooner and prevent re-injury.

Referrals for physiotherapy

Usually, no referral is necessary. Under the Veterans’ Affairs or Medicare Plus schemes a referral letter from a GP is required.

Referrals by physiotherapists

Physiotherapists at our clinic are authorised to refer clients for X-rays.

Sick Leave
Physiotherapists are legally authorised to issue sick leave certificates when the client is unfit for work due to an injury or condition for which they have consulted the physiotherapist.

For Worksafe clients, physiotherapists can only provide subsequent certificates of incapacity after the initial certificate has been completed by a GP.

Physiotherapists can supply attendance certificates to certify that a client has attended an appointment.

Payment is expected on the day of consultation. EFTPOS and credit card facilities are available. Private health care rebate is available for clients with relevant extras cover with our Hicaps facility on the day of consultation. Concessional rates are available for Health Care card holders.

Please note: Cancellations
We request 12 hours notice for cancellation of appointments. This allows time for our office staff to reschedule “wait-listed” clients and makes best use of our physiotherapists’ time. If less than 12 hours notice is given, Albert Park Physiotherapy reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee.
